This is such a great workshop I learned a lot from it. Thank you all for the tips and information.
I took notes while listening to the workshop. I tried to make sentences short as possible.

How to be a unique character, Workshop
This workshop involves tips and tricks on how to play a unique character on WWRP.
It is not a dictation on how you should play on WWRP.
Rather how you make yourself(the player) and your character unique.
Most participators in this workshop are veterans roleplayers.

Learn some tips and tricks from the staff and members of WWRP.

You should not remember everything being said here.
Rather be inspired and realize new ways to roleplay.

Frank Devine, management

  • Read Roleplay Guide for New and Experienced Roleplayers and Wild West RP Rules & Guidelines
  • WWRP enforces fun positive environment. Avoid drama.
  • Take it slow, slow burn RP. Don't be outlaw day one.
  • Roleplay with law enforcement. Avoid the cops vs. robbers and winner mentality.
  • Your character is fictional. Don't take things personally. Whatever happens roll with it.
  • Make a unique character. Have positive and negative traits. Maybe a funny accent.

  • Don't rob yourself of your beginning/story.
  • If you play an outlaw day one then you are over half way into your story.
  • Start your story from 0 to 10. Not 5 to 10.
  • You are not an outlaw in the RP aspect. It takes time to be one.
  • Make an organic character.
  • Don't team up just with your friends over discord.
  • Your character doesn't know anything about the world in WWRP.
  • Get to know how things work through RP.
  • Get to know characters outside your close friends circle.
  • Don't try to figure out everything day one. You run out of content.
James 'Jay' Tully, moderator
  • Be the character you play, not just play the character.
  • Imagine how long it will take you to hunt an animal and skin it in real life.
  • Find a middle ground between "game and real life". RP from that perspective.
  • Think about timing and your character.
  • If you play a chubby character they might not be able to hunt for a long time.
Sarah Connor, administrators
  • Just go with the flow of the RP.
  • Don't expect things to go your way everyday. You will be disappointed.
  • Don't expect anything. Play naturally.
  • Have goals but less outcome expectation.
Unsure about the name. Solid points to note.
  • Try to talk to people. It's a good way to start your story.
  • You don't have to win every time. Keep a balance between win and lose.
  • Experience different alternatives to RP. If you always win you never experience the opposite.
  • Create RP scenarios for others. If you are going to be kidnapped, let it happen sometimes.
  • If you kidnap someone make it enjoyable for them. Not just use them for your advantage.
  • Give quests to people. Ask for quests from people.
  • Don't interrupt other RP scenarios if you are not part of it.
  • If you are new start with a neutral character(not criminal). Get the feeling of WWRP.
  • Show emotion in your character.
  • Create a story. Avoid gun fights. RP always first.
  • Remember to use emotes. It makes your character unique.
  • Avoid immersion breakers. Like asking for commands. Check FAQ in discord.
  • Don't be afraid to interact with people. Say hello to people passing by.
  • Having a deep background story is great. Although you don't have to follow it word for word.
  • Check your audio quality. Make sure it's not loud, low, background noise etc. Use Push to talk.
Some points I would like to add
  • Don't create a meta for yourself. Example: Today I go do "this" because it earns me most money.
  • Go to town, talk to people. See if an opportunity for RP scenario arises.
  • Don't always hang around town. Random encounters are fun and organic.
  • Don't chase specific people outside of your characters knowledge that you want to RP with.
  • Stick to your character. If your character have a lisps and people try to correct you, keep lisping. Don't break your character.
  • If after listening or reading this workshop you figure out that you haven't been RPing in a similar way, it's not too late to make a new character.
Have fun. Be creative. Take your time.

I really enjoyed the live workshop with Djinnjee and company that was broadcast on twitch. It was very informative and helpful. As someone who suffers from anxiety this helped me make that most important first step to start a conversation in RP. However, seeing all the player reports in the last couple of days has made me feel more anxious than ever. I'm stressed out to make a mistake and be named and shamed in the forums.
