Description
Penny is a relatively short individual with a firecracker Spirit she is incredibly chaotic but also a loveable goofball coming in at a staggering five foot six inches this absolute menace to society will leave you in stitches and probably remember a few funny phrases along the way
Early Life
Penny Elaine Masterton was born into a relatively poor household in the city of Saint Denis, New Alexandria, in 1876. She was a single child to Elaine Masterton and David Masterton. Penny's mother was a stay-at-home wife, whilst her father David was a miner up in Annesberg. They hardly had enough to get by, which eventually caused David to spend a lot more days at the mine than he needed to, which later on down the line caused health complications with miner's black lung. This happened when Penny was rather young. At the age of eight, her mother Elaine unfortunately succumbed to pneumonia. When she was 10, this caused Penny a very unfortunate circumstance where she had the choice to live in an orphanage or to join the other street kids as urchins. Only being young at the time, Penny decided to move on to the streets with all of her friends.
Penny's teenage life was filled with her being a street urchin, a pickpocket, a thief, a miscreant to society, a girl who had not fully matured yet in the big scary world she was left behind in. This was done alongside her friends Molly, James, Cyril, Peter, and Nancy. They would hang around the market, pestering stall owners whilst either Penny or Cyril would crawl underneath the table. Whilst the stall operators were not looking, they would take a quite small amount of stock—never anything more than they needed. They knew to do this as, usually, if caught, the very small amount of weight they were carrying would allow them to run away at full pace and down all the different alleyways as fast as they could.
Of course, stealing and being a pickpocket led to Penny getting caught when she was not so good at it, usually ending up having to fight off angry adults. Not being as strong as them, she would always receive some form of minor beating. This eventually got her to stop attempting pickpocketing and move on to snatch-and-run tactics, where she would use her dad's old mining horse, Benson, to ride around the streets. She would find someone with a fancy bag or necklace, trot past on Benson, hop off him, tear the individual's necklace off their neck or snatch their bag, and quickly get back on Benson and disappear into the night. There wasn't much else for Penny to do other than steal and fight with the other kids over stolen property—who got to keep what and who deserved to turn in the many stolen items to the pawn shop where they would get a few dollars to buy food for themselves and the many other street urchin children.
Eventually, Penny matured around the age of 20. The once wild and law-breaking Penny realized to grow up in today's society, she would need a job. But unfortunately, most of the stores, stalls, and markets she ended up stealing from recognized her and did not trust a thief. As much as she tried pleading and bargaining to receive a job, she was turned away. This led to her pursuing once again the street urchin lifestyle. This time, being a much more elder kid, she would teach the younger generation how to not get caught. Penny was almost like a big sister to all of the street urchin children. She was loved for her very chaotic energy and how any of the urchins could approach her for help in a time of need or just someone to hang about with.
Present Life
Currently, in the present day, Penny has matured completely and stopped pursuing the lifestyle of an urchin. She has since started working for herself as a fishmonger and has become quite a successful businesswoman and recognized individual within the state of New Alexandria. Penny is well-loved by the community for her chaotic energy and no-filter attitude toward situations. She will say what is on her mind but will also completely look at you and then ask, "What?" when you have explained a whole situation to her. It's also a very goofy attitude she shows and just seems to make anyone who she is around laugh. Penny is a joy to be around but can still have that street urchin miscreant flare about her.
Penny has absolutely no problems with talking to anyone regarding her past. It's like she enjoys talking about it not only because she knows she is better than how she once was but also because of how far she has come. Currently, Penny has tried many different Businesses, such as an outdoor dining carriage and a leatherworks company, but has still seen the most business from her fishmonger.
Penny has made many friends and, very proudly, no enemies. She is determined to stay on the path of the straight and narrow. Even though criminal activities happen around her all the time, she does not join in on them, staying as far away as she can. Penny is also showing a lot more understanding about how to present herself in public. Instead of being dressed in ragged shirts, shorts, and half-worn sandals, she now wears tailored clothing along with boots and shoes. Even though she initially hated them, she has become quite accustomed to them and designs all of her outfits herself; she just tells the tailor what material she wants.
