    Description

    Early Life

Richard James Fowler was born in Temperance Town in the Capital city of Cardiff, Wales. Temperance Town was an area near the center of the city. The city was a port specializing in the export of coal. Temperance Town is located right next to the Great Western Railway station. The lower socio-economic class of welsh society typically inhabited it.

Temperance town was land owned by the British Colonel Edward Wood, a teetotaller, who imposed strict regulations against alcohol consumption. Much to the distress of the inhabitants. Despite this imposed ban, Richard's father was an alcoholic.

Consequently, early in Richard’s life, Richard's prominent positive male figures were Arthur his oldest Brother, and Frederick. Until the war, Richard saw Arthur as the man of the house. As the youngest Richard was put through school, and he is usually one of the smarter ones. Still, he considers Frederick more intelligent than him, and due to Frederick's military rank and efforts during the war, he has a lot of respect for Frederick and is immensely loyal to him.

Army: Severed from 1896, entering the Army at twenty, Richard joined the 2nd Battalion Rifle Brigade with his brothers serving in the Mahdist war. During this time, his Brother promoted him to Lance Corporal. On the 23rd June 1898 the Medical Corps was formed, and he was made to join due to his education.

Battle of Omdurman: 2 September 1898, Battle of Omdurman and the massacre that issued left Richard to do much of the medical for soldiers in this battle. So many were wounded in this battle that Richard and the rest of the Medical Corps could not see who needed it, and many of Richard's close friends died that day.

He is still left heavily traumatized by this battle. He still, to this day, paints the injuries and scenes he saw as a way of coping with the things he saw.

Remained of the war: Richard served for another few months after the battle of Omdurman until he was discharged due to his mental state after a friend of his in the Medical Corps, Charlie Stuart died due to pneumothorax. He had taken a through and-through to his chest, which punctured his right lung on both sides. Due to the panic, he was left too long, the air Charlie was breathing in was allowed to get in between his lung and chest wall, pushing on the outside of his lung collapsing it. Additionally, several ribs were broken as the bullet entered and left his chest.

    Present Life

    Lee-Metford Bolt-Action Magazine Rifle "Maggie"

Richard's Lee-Metford is called "Maggie" after a girl he was close to back in Temperance town named Maggie Jones. Although, upon returning to Cardiff, he could not meet up with her again, he is unsure what happened to Maggie. To most other people who didn't know Maggie, Richard plays it off as he named his Rifle off the fact it's a Magazine Rifle.

Richard is very over-attached to his Rifle, and he can't sleep without it being close to his side. You will not often see Richard without his Rifle. Like when he was in the Army, he cleans and services his gun every single time he wakes up.

On the stock of his rifle, he has the initials R.J.F.
