    Description

    🌤️Little Menance
Waverly West was born in 1884 in Gothenburg, Sweden, to two loving parents, Annelise and Andy West. Despite their devotion, the family lived in poverty, and much of Waverly’s childhood was spent on the streets, begging for scraps and collecting small trinkets. With no access to formal education, she instead learned only what her parents could teach her, languages such as Swedish and English, basic life lessons, and practical skills like crafting and blacksmithing.

Waverly’s appearance is striking in a quiet, endearing way. She has soft light ginger hair that she usually ties up in a bun to keep it out of her face while she works, warm dark-brown eyes framed by glasses, and faint freckles scattered across her cheeks. A big scar runs across her left eye, a remnant of an accident from her toddler years. Like her parents, she is also remarkably petite, her stature adding to her energetic charm.

Waverly is a spirited and energetic young girl, full of curiosity and a boundless eagerness for life. She thrives on meeting new people, striking up conversations with strangers as though they were old friends, and she finds joy in even the simplest adventures. Whether it’s exploring unfamiliar streets, chasing after something that catches her eye, or inventing new games to play, Waverly approaches the world with wide-eyed wonder and a heart that refuses to tire.

Her playful and often childlike demeanor makes her endearing to those around her, though it sometimes causes others to underestimate her. Beneath that lighthearted exterior, however, lies a sharp focus and determination. Nowhere is this more evident than when she is crafting. The moment she picks up her tools, her whole demeanor changes, her chatter quiets, her laughter softens, and her hands move with surprising precision. In those moments, she reveals a level of seriousness and skill that contrasts with her otherwise whimsical nature, proving that while she may appear childish, her talents are anything but.

    Early Life

    🌤️Poor upbringing
Waverly grew up in the heart of Gothenburg, Sweden, a city alive with the clamor of ships docking in the harbor and the constant bustle of trade. But unlike the merchants and sailors who thrived there, her family struggled to survive. Born in 1884 to her parents, Annelise and Andy West, Waverly’s earliest memories were of narrow streets, the smell of saltwater on the wind, and the ever-present challenge of poverty. Though they had very little, her parents raised her with unwavering love, teaching her to meet hardship with both resilience and imagination.

Her days as a child were rarely quiet. With no access to formal schooling, Waverly spent her time helping her parents, wandering the city streets, and making games out of whatever scraps she could find. She became quick with her hands, often turning discarded odds and ends into toys or tools. While other children played with dolls or wooden soldiers, Waverly crafted her own amusements, proudly showing them off to anyone willing to look. It was through these little creations that her fascination with crafting began to take root.

When she was only a toddler, however, her restless curiosity nearly cost her dearly. While playing too close to her father’s blacksmithing tools, Waverly tripped and fell against a piece of hot metal. The accident left a scar across her eye, an injury that might have been far worse if not for her parents’ quick actions. The mark remained with her for life, a constant reminder of both her daring spirit and the dangers that came with it.

Though her family’s circumstances were difficult, Waverly was not one to dwell on misfortune. She had an adventurous spirit and often imagined herself as an explorer, setting out beyond the city’s harbor to discover new worlds. She loved the company of others and would eagerly strike up conversations with strangers in the marketplace, never shy and always curious. Many saw her as overly childish, with her endless questions and restless energy, but those who knew her best understood that her imagination was her way of making life brighter.

As she grew older, Waverly began to take on more responsibilities at home. She spent hours at her father’s side, fascinated by the glow of the forge and the steady rhythm of his work. Though she was still small, she learned the basics of blacksmithing, and her determination often impressed her parents. Her mother, meanwhile, encouraged her to practice languages and share stories, fostering Waverly’s love for words as well as her craft.

By her teenage years, Waverly had become a girl of contrasts, playful and mischievous when left to her own devices, yet surprisingly serious when working with her hands. She dreamed often of the future, imagining adventures far beyond the streets where she grew up, and though her family’s poverty seemed to confine her, she carried within her a restless hope that one day she would find her own path in the wider world.

Waverly often wandered the harbor in Gothenburg, fascinated by the ships that promised adventure beyond the horizon. One day, while climbing aboard a vessel to explore, she failed to notice it was preparing to leave port. By the time she realized, the ship was already at sea. Though frightened at first, Waverly’s charm and energy won over the sailors, who let her remain as a stowaway. Weeks later, the ship docked in New Alexandria, a bustling city unlike anything she had ever seen. What began as an accident became the first step of her greatest adventure.

    Present Life

    🌤️Lost at sea, 1904
Waverly arrived in New Alexandria in August. After disembarking, she began exploring the surrounding region, eventually deciding to make her home in Valentine. She set up a small camp inside the telegram station, spending her days collecting trinkets, foraging for plants, hunting, and crafting tools to sell. Proud of her creations, she gave them a whimsical name: “Whatchamacallits.”

After establishing herself and gaining a firm footing in the state, Waverly set her sights on a grander ambition: the creation of the Yarnlings, a whimsical and mischievous cult of dreamers, storytellers, and playful mischief-makers, bound together by creativity, curiosity, and the joy of turning the ordinary into something extraordinary.

Right at the end of August Waverly decided to move out West. She thought it’d be funny since her surname is West. So she took her two horses Peanut and Pickle, filled the saddle bags with all her tools, trinkets, scraps and rode out to the heat of Armadillo. She also found a secret hideout for her silly little cut, Yarnlings, to use as their headquarters.
