Howdy Community Members 🤠,

Over the past few months several concerns have been raised with gunsmithing, specifically the difficulty and lack of communication on how to become one.

So to give a update for the past few weeks the Admin + team have been looking at ways to make becoming a gunsmith more accessible, and understandable while keeping the quality of the RP Gunsmiths have.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To that end we we have decided on the following process for players to become gunsmiths via IC means.

-Firstly you will have to contact a gunsmith IC and enquire about becoming a gunsmith apprentice with them, learning their trade IC and putting you in a position where you can see first hand what we expect from our gunsmiths RP.

-To get the in game Perms for this role your character will have to pass a "exam" which will be done with any gunsmith who already have perms, previously it was just gunsmithing masters who could perform the "exam". "Exams" can be given freely & can be determined by the gunsmith your character is apprenticing under. Gunsmiths are free to do it in whatever way there character sees fit as long as it does test the apprentices ability to do the RP required of the role.

- When a "exam" has been done with your character, you will have to open a ticket and provide to us video footage of your character doing the "exam" or the time and date when you did the "exam" as well as your characters CSN.

- Once that is done you will have to wait for the ticket to be reviewed by a member of the admin+ team.

- After the ticket has been reviewed and been accepted, you will be provided with a agreement about what the expectations of the role are. To get the in game permissions for the mechanic you will have to agree to this.

-Assuming no issues have come up during this process, congratulations you should now have gunsmith perms. (more information on how the mechanic works will be provided for those with the mechanic)

OOC Applications to Gunsmithing

We will be allowing a limited number of players to apply to have a character become a gunsmith via opening a ticket on discord with a focus on those outside of the timezones of current gunsmiths. They will also have to provide the staff team with proof that they can do the Roleplay to the standard we expect. This will be similar to the process of getting doctor perms via opening a ticket. The exact number of people we will be allowing to apply OOC will change depended on the needs of the role, and that is why we are not providing a solid number at this time.

The reason we are opening the gunsmithing role to a limited amount of players to be able to apply OOC, is to encourage players to roll in as apprentice gunsmithing characters rather then a character that is already a "master" of their craft. This is to provide both gunsmiths and Roleplayers wanting to get into gunsmithing with more Rolplay.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With all this being said we will be keeping an eye on this process to see how it goes. If this ends up not being any better then the previous system, we will look into additional changes but we will be seeing how this goes first.

FOR ANYONE WANTING TO GET INTO THIS ROLEPLAY THE STAFF TEAM HIGHLY ENCOURAGES YOU TO ROLE A CHARACTER AS A GUNSMITH APPRENTICE FIRST.
