Hi all,
After several long discussions and review on the current climate of Corruption RP, we have decided to adopt a new rule regarding corruption for Whitelisted roles:
For those who are currently engaging in a corruption storyline: you will have one week from the time of this announcement's posting to open a ticket and obtain permissions to continue the storyline. When you open your ticket, please ask for it to be locked to Admin+ before specifying your request.
Any corruption RP that continues and does not have permission after the aforementioned one week will be considered a breach of rule 15.
Thanks all!

After several long discussions and review on the current climate of Corruption RP, we have decided to adopt a new rule regarding corruption for Whitelisted roles:
14. Acts of corruption in any whitelisted or elected roles are not allowed unless the story arc is approved by Admin+, as it is important that any potential corruption brings with it a good and meaningful RP story, is not rampant or degrading to the role, and is done to a level that allows developments through various avenues, rather than appear to be scripted or unyielding.
Corruption Clarification:
Corruption is NOT allowed (unless approved by Admins/Management) for individuals playing in LEO, MO, DoP, Judiciary and Government roles within the community.
Corruption includes, but is not limited to:
• Use of your position/role to see or provide information to those who would not have access to that information(Telegrams, LEO Files, Letters).
• Use of your position/role to provide physical materials (including items only accessible by your job) to others who would not otherwise have access to them.
• Use of your position/role to actively work against or undermine the Government or Law Enforcement.
Corruption arcs are approved by Admins & Management on a case-by-case basis. Requests for these arcs will require a Support Ticket to be created and approval provided prior to the start of the storyline.
1899 Environment
In 1899, some facets of life are far more brutal than their current-day counterparts. As such, there are subjects that would not be considered a breach of the Corruption Rule.
If you are uncertain of whether or not an RP arc you wish to pursue has the possibility of breaching the Corruption Rule, open a support ticket. Admins and Management will touch bases with you to help clarify for any scenario you're curious about.
Below are some examples of what is not considered a breach of the Corruption Rule. Bear in mind, the below examples might still have IC consequences.
• Roughing someone up.
• Denial of human rights to Criminals. (Though this is still illegal, it was a common practice in 1899)
• Clearing towns to ensure their safety.
• Making commentary that is negative to a group someone may/may not favor (No Tolerance Rules still apply).
• Being held hostage and forced at gunpoint to commit the above acts.
• Occasionally turning a blind eye to an activity.
Overall, the purpose of this rule is not to dissuade players in roles like the government or Sheriff's Office from portraying their character according to the wild west setting, but rather to ensure that corruption is done fairly and with the intent to create a storyline for others. An action will only typically be regarded as "corruption" if it is intentionally malicious to their role or otherwise done in bad faith. It's impossible to list every potential circumstance, but genuine mistakes, lapses in judgement, and the examples listed above are all not violations of this rule. Players, on an out-of-character level, will not be punished for honest slip-ups.
