  • August "George" Dune

    Description

Fairly slim, pale, and malnourished looking boy. Long, black hair with brown eyes

    Early Life

August's birth name was Richard Roylain. He was born in New Alexandria before it was New Alexandria and grew up with two parents for the first few years of his life. His father, Arthur Roylain was in debt to a local gang after some uneasy first few years as a parent. One night, when Little Richard was 7 years old, The gang visited their homestead to collect the debt. His father was unable to pay back the debt, so in response to this, they shot him in the doorway. They raided the household and found 7-year-old Richard sleeping in his room.

They took 7-year-old Richard as a punishment to Arthur for not paying his debt back. Richard had woken up the next morning, unknowing of where he was. He was placed in a small room with a thin mattress on the floor, with no windows. A member, known to him as "Grunt" came to the door, and told him his new name was going to be August, considering that was the month this took place. This also made it possible that other kids stayed in the house, which went by the names of different months.

he was given a decent meal for the next 5 years and left isolated in the small room. He managed to sneak past "Grunt" one day when he was 12 and escape the room. He made his way across the hot desert that is known as "New Austin" today. A local farmer had brought him in for a few days, where August had stolen food from and manipulated the Farmer for some money. He left the farm one night without saying a word and made his way down toward Saint-Denis on a wagon.

August was a street rat and thief for the first few months in Saint-Denis. He took things from people like watches, food, and money. One day, he met a 14-year-old boy who went by the name of "George". They instantly sparked, and August looked up to him as a friend. They did everything together and taught each other things. A year after they met, they decided they were more than just friends, and shared a kiss on the top of Brandywine drop.

A year later, August shared some of his past with George after he pried for it. He told him about the gang that had him captive for many years, and what they did to him. George, being himself did not like this and wanted August to take revenge. After a month of attempting to convince August to go with him, it worked. George and August made their way on the back of George's horse, Georgie. August had navigated for them both, and eventually one night, they made it to the homestead out in New Austin. George had brought some dynamite and snuck towards the house while August watched from a distance.

While August was watching George plant the dynamite, his mouth was suddenly covered up by a hand and he was forced down to the ground. He tried screaming for George, but it was no use. He witnessed a man come out from the back of the house, and shoot George in the leg. August fell unconscious, and woke back up in that same room, tied up on the ground next to George, also hogtied to the ground with a bleeding wound in his leg. He watched as "Grunt" caved George's head in, and he screamed for help, but nothing came of it.

The body of George was left in the room with August for many years. He watched as it decayed into nothingness, and he cried out every last tear he had. He turned into a cold, distant man. George had dreams of becoming someone bigger, and a much more known criminal. On August's 18th birthday, he vowed to himself that he was going to take Georges's name for good, and get the hell out of captivity. After a month and a half of planning an escape, it was game time. He crafted a knife from a some chicken bones, and as "Grunt" came to give him his lunch, he stabbed him in the throat with it. He took his gun off him and proceeded to shoot and kill every single member of the gang.

After he got out of captivity, he took a job at the coal mines in Annesburg and worked there for a year. He went by the name "George Dune".
