This guide will serve as your introduction to the new animation menu, now inside of WWRP as apart of the Spring Update, and all of the amazing RP opportunities it provides. We are going to go over what the animation menu is, how to interact with it, as well as some of the cool things it does for us that create a more immersive RP experience.

What is it?

The new animation menu is accessed by pressing X. This will bring up a menu in the bottom right hand corner of your screen, and you'll see a ton of categories. These categories give you a reasonable understanding of what to expect from that category based on its title. Some options will appear, or disappear, as relevant items in your inventory are no longer present. For example, the smoke menu will not appear if you don't have a cigarette or cigar to smoke, as they require a cigarette or cigar to be used.

Another example of a menu, is let's say you want to lean. You press the right key on your keyboard to access the "Lean" Category, and now you are faced with another menu! This menu is divided into 4 more categories:

W - Forward
A - Left
S - Back
D - Right

Within each of these categories will be a set of animations that will be with the respective direction in mind. Now you just pick the one you want! And hit the corresponding button, and voila!

But wait, there's more! Now within each of these animations, you can press X again to bring up another menu, this is a set of idle animations and actions within the animation you're in, that can really help show immersion and give life to your character in animations. You can cancel out of your current animation by pressing X and then pressing C.

But wait, I can't point or hands up anymore?

These interactions have been integrated into the new Animations Menu. You can access them by the following combinations:

Point | X-X
Hands up | X-H-H

You will also notice in the Hostage menu, there are new options for raising, lowering, or even having your hands tied, hands on your head, to create some more fun and immersive hostage scenarios.

Context Based Scenarios and Animations

This is where this feature gets really cool. This new menu features options like "Food and Drink" that can allow you to fill your canteen at water sources, as well as drink from them on your own. You simply approach a relevant source, and use the appropriate animations, and you will fill your canteen! The canteen is the first of these interactions to come with this update, but there may be more in the future.

This also includes guns! Pressing X while you have a weapon out will provide you with different emote options! This includes gun twirling and tricks for pistols/revolvers, as well as some cool animations for pistols/revolvers, longarms, and more!

There's even some emotes on horseback!

Gestures

There's a new menu for gestures within this animations menu, these gestures are very useful for demonstrating emotion, greeting someone, or displaying positive or negative emotions, a great tool for demonstrating characters current feelings, or making expressions in the case that a character is mute or unable to speak.

Ragdoll

The famous ragdoll! Now able to be accessed with the click of a button, you just need to open your Emote Menu and press the Ragdoll button to immediately ragdoll. No more macros or setting up your chat in advance for a spicy /rd in a foot chase. Now you can access ragdolling quick and easy, and generate some pretty fun scenarios out of it!

What about the TAB Menu Emotes?

This way of doing emotes is still valid and able to be used, we are in the process of adding animations to the new systems, and there are still emotes/animations that are in the old system. We are not planning to remove the old emote system yet.

Thank you so much for writing up this introduction guide!

We are really excited to introduce this new system as we feel it will bring a lot of immersion and control to all of your role play. (No more unintentionally spitting at the person to your right or left.) I did want to have more animations before it's initial release, but we were so excited about it and the control that it brings to animations, that we couldn't wait any longer.

There will be changes and updates to the current system, the key maps and menus will change. We will add new libraries of animations for you to emote and interact with the world. So if your favorite animations are not yet in, please be patient.

I hope you all are excited about this as much as I am.
