    Description

Elijah Kingsman is a well known Bounty Hunter who is known to hang around Valentine and look over the town when he has time. He lives life as a "Rancher" when not Bounty Hunting and is known to always have a bottle of Rum with him. He is the oldest of the Kingsman Family and will protect them at all costs.

    Early Life

Elijah Kingsman was born in California in 1843. He was born to a Cattle Rancher William and his loving, supportive wife Anna Kingsman. He has one sibling, Ashley Kingsman. Growing up Elijah learned very quickly that he needed to provide for himself. His father taught him all the basics of ranching and helped him develop the life skills that were needed to be a successful head of the household. As he grew, he learned about the world in a more dark manner. He met a man, that he would believe to be the brother he never had. Thomas Alvarez. Thomas taught him how to steal to survive. When he was just 15 along with Thomas and a group of outlaws, he participated in his first train robbery. Unfortunately, the train had a car with 3 US Marshalls onboard. Unknowingly, Elijah shot 2 of them. Believing he was just protecting himself and shooting 2 people who tried to be heroes. When Thomas grabbed the badges, and took them as trinkets of what they had done, the reality hit Elijah. He wasn't who he wanted to be, but where else would he go. Who else would he turn to?

In 1860, at the age of 17, during a robbery Elijah met a young woman. Roseanna Wilson. Instead of taking the young woman hostage, Elijah asked her to come with them. After a moment of hesitancy, she said yes. The 2 grew close as they robbed and stole with Thomas and the gang. During the spring of 1862, after a rather rough shootout with Deputies in a small town in East Texas, the gang decided two things. They needed a name and they needed to get the fuck out of Texas. Thomas suggested The Fallen, to honor the people that had died in the pursuit of this outlaw status. Elijah didn't agree. He suggested The Saints. After a group vote and discussion, they agreed on The Saints. They also officially, decided on a leader. Thomas would be in charge, make the final decisions and Elijah would do so in his absence.

On August 14th, 1863, Elijah and Roseanna married. It was a small ceremony in the backyard of the home that The Saints had purchased months earlier in eastern South Carolina. They had slowed down there escapades a bit as they were entrenched trying to not get caught up in the civil war. Elijah, made a decision in October of 1863. He joined the Army as a medic. He disobeyed orders time and time again, helping both Confederate and Union troops that were injured. He ended up performing 143 surgeries in his 16 months in the army. Upon the end of the Civil War he was able to return to his family. It was like nothing had changed, but the balance in power seemed different. Thomas had a new right hand. Simon Froolmer. Thomas reassured Elijah, that he was still his number 2. The one that Thomas would tell everything too. Elijah had no reason to believe any different, he trusted him. Loved him like a brother.

Between 1865 and 1876, that 11 year stretch for The Saints was historic. They robbed, and stole everything they could. Anything they wanted, they took. Nothing was safe. They traveled around the country on horse back and by train. Robbing each train as it made its way into town and then moving on with the spoils. Everything changed though, when Roseanna got pregnant. December of 1876, they welcomed there first 2 children. Lillian and Thomas, a set of twins. Elijah and Rose talked and came up with a plan. They would continue to live the life, but never let their kids know. Elijah would tell them he was a rancher, and Rose would stay home. Helping to plan without getting involved. Over the next 5 years, the family and the gang grew. They grew stronger, but the gang began to get reckless. They had been doing this for 20 years. They felt unstoppable.

Elijah had grown close with a member of the gang. A little closer then a married man should grow. He began to spend all of his "Ranching" time as he told his kids with her, Vanessa Trotter, or as only he called her Ness. Ness was understanding of his situation. He loved his wife, but missed being able to live the life they did before the kids. In 1881, tragedy struck. Rose, during the birth of their final child, Mavis, died from complications. Elijah was devastated. He was unsure of what he wanted to do. He knew his family needed him, but so did The Saints. They were all one in the same. So he made a decision. He allowed the gang around his kids more. Under the blanket of being apart of The Kingsman Ranch. The cover they had used for the last 6 years, just kept getting larger. He settled in and continued to be the man, he wasnt sure he wanted to be. Ness and him grew closer. Finally being able to be together, without hurting anyone.

In 1891, Ness finally asked him, after seeing the years of the hatred of what he had become eat him alive. She asked him to pick up his family and run away. He wanted to, but he thought he could change the gang. He heard of a place, New Alexandria. They could get away from everything. Get away from the pain, the investigations, the murders. They decided to do that. Elijah knew it would be dangerous. He sent his children to live with his parents, who had moved to New Alexandria years before to be safe. He sent a letter to his sister-in-law Bridget Marx and asked her to take care of them as well. Sending $15,000 with them. Knowing he may never see them again.

Elihah and Ness hatched a plan. They would figure out the rest of the gang. Who was over this, who wanted out. Who wanted to be safe and relax now. Turn them against Thomas and get the hell out of The Saints. Time and greed had changed him. He wasn't the brother Elijah had once loved. He was a sadistic, selfish man. He had to be stopped. After months of planning, they went into action. They were able to get 8 members of the gang to side with them. Charles, Trevor, Pepper, Wayne, Alex, Andy, Jake and Gene. People who trusted and loved him and Ness. Those 8 would do anything for them. They knew the only way out was to kill Thomas. Simon and Thomas knew something was changing. They acted first. During a robbery and shootout with the deputies in the spring of 92, the 2 of them allowed Charles and Trevor to be caught, they would later be executed. Later that night, Simon slit Wayne's throat while he was sleeping. Alex and Andy were executed after bounty hunters were tipped off of their location. Thomas poisoned Jake, by switching out his water in his canteen. One by one they were eliminated. Elijah and Ness being unable to do anything about it. They told Pepper to leave. They would cover her escape in the evening with a fire. The plan worked, and Pepper escaped. Elijah and Ness took off the next morning. Believing they were safe, they settled in Oklahoma.

For 2 years they enjoyed life. Turned things around. Became legal citizens. They got married and settled down. Ness became a deputy with a local office and Elijah a bounty hunter. They were able to work close together and stop crime before it happened. In the Spring of 96, things changed. Thomas and The Saints rode into town and found Ness on duty. They took her out into the country side, tourturing her for days. Elijah was searching for days and finally found them. He made a deal with Thomas to turn himself over, and Thomas released Ness, to walk to Elijah to say goodbye. They shared one more kiss, before Simon shot her in the back as she stood next to Elijah, the bullet passing though her and entering his left arm. He went into a rage, shooting everyone around him, before Thomas stuck a knife in his shoulder, breaking the tip off in his shoulder. They subdued Elijah, and tortured him for days. Knowing he would die, he told Thomas everything he hated about him. The way he changed and allowed it all to come out. Thomas stopped Simon from killing him, knowing the pain Elijah would be in would be better than ending his life. He released him and told him, the next time he saw him, would be to die. Elijah laid there for days before being found. After hearing he headed to New Alexandria to find his family. Knowing, that's all he had left.

    Present Life

Upon arrival in New Alexandria, Elijah set out on a path to find his family. He wanted to tell them everything. His past, The Saints, Ness...But he was unable to find anyone. He found out his parents had passed away in 1894 and the Bridgette was raising the kids. He was thankful, but fearful. He was unsure what the kids would think when he found them. If they'd even remember him. He was terrified that his family, the only thing he had left would not want him around. He searched and searched for months, finally stumbling upon his son Thomas, in Armadillo. Thomas was excited to see him and greeted him with a large, warm hug. He was exhausted from fighting and hiding but he was at peace now. He had found his family. Soon the family was back together, at a camp overlooking Blackwater. Huddled around the fire. Thomas, Lillian, Mavis, Clayton, and Nathan. He was happy, but ready to find work.

Things got heated inside the family quickly. With Mavis and Nathan, and Clayton and Lillian being at each others throats. Elijah put it to siblings wanting to be the first to get married, the first to be truly happy. It was deeper than that. Much deeper. There seemed to be a resentment that grew inside the camp that just grew larger day after day, before it finally all came to a head. After a heated argument one night, Mavis and Nathan rode out of town. Elijah believes they ran off to get married, Thomas has said he thinks they are dead. None the less, Elijah lost another family member that day, his youngest daughter. Everyone went there own separate ways, with Thomas and Elijah riding to South Carolina to get some things that Elijah had left behind, years ago.

Upon his return to state he received a letter from Clayton Anderson, his son-in-law. He had found work with Gus Bullock and Poe Ross at the Bullock & Ross Cattle Company. Elijah jumped at the opportunity to find his new life. He rode over there on Socks and began to work with the ranchers. He grew close with 2 of them specifically. Spencer Myers and Cutter Baset. The two of them quickly became like his kids and he would do anything for them. Him and Spencer grew so close, that he adopted her in December of 1901. When the holidays came in 1901 though, the ranch seemed to cease to exist. People moving out of state and the move to Carmody Dell Ranch, causing soft rifts. Elijah started to ride with the Deputies and Marshals more as 1901 ended and 1902 began.

Elijah quickly became close friends with Fletcher Beckett. The two bonded over there past with criminals and the hatred they both shared for people who hurt others, for no reason. Fletcher and Elijah may not have caught any bounties together, but the laughs they shared, meant more to Elijah than Fletcher will ever know. Having someone to talk to about anything, confide the things he wanted to let people know, but wouldn't because of fear, meant alot to him. Through Fletcher, Elijah met some of the people he calls family. Piper Kennedy, Shiloh Graves, Merilee Holland, Jason Kings and Boyd Langston. People that he would do anything for, and would gladly help if they ever asked, no questions asked.

In passing because of his willingness to help deputies and just chat with them, he met the person he would call his best friend. The first time he had used that word since the man he thought would be his brother, Iris Moon. Elijah and Iris grew close quickly and they shared stories of there past. Iris of her torture by the Fish when she was a recruit, and Elijah of who he really was, what he had done. She was the first person he ever told about his second wife. She accepts him and it allows him to be himself. He hopes to make everyone proud when he gets to put that white hat on.

After becoming a Deputy Recruit, Elijah quickly took to the job but realized that it may not be for him. His style of handling things the way he did as a Bounty Hunter, was the way of the Sheriff's of the past, not the present. He tendered his resignation after returning from his vacation. Elijah spoke with Piper Lasky and returned to being a Bounty Hunter for the New Alexandria Marshals Office. He began to target the people he used to stray from as a new Bounty Hunter, the Outlaws. Setting his sites on The Texas Devils and The Free State of New Ambarino.
