Description
Sweetest Bea
Beatrice Fairchild was born in 1879 to Irene and Hank Fairchild, a noble family living just outside Cambridge, England. Raised in the family’s grand estate, Beatrice grew up surrounded by a large, bustling family, though she often preferred quieter moments to the lively social gatherings that came with her family’s status. Despite her noble birth, she has always been a shy, reserved young woman, never one to seek attention. Instead, Beatrice found comfort in the simpler things in life, particularly in the kitchen, where she developed a deep love for baking.
Physically, Beatrice is a striking sight, with soft, long blonde hair that cascades down her back in beautiful waves. Her dark blue eyes are perhaps her most captivating feature, always filled with a soft curiosity and a quiet intelligence. Her fair skin is adorned with a sprinkling of freckles, particularly across her nose and cheeks, giving her a youthful, innocent appearance. Her round, cute face is framed by her hair, and her gentle smile makes her seem approachable and sweet, even when she’s lost in thought. Though she’s not one for standing out in a crowd, her warmth and kindness shine through whenever she speaks.
In addition to her gentle demeanor, Beatrice has an undeniable passion for baking. She finds peace in the kitchen, whether it’s making soft, buttery cakes, freshly baked breads, or delicious pastries. There’s something about the rhythm of mixing ingredients, the warmth of the oven, and the sweet aroma that fills her home that brings her joy. Baking is her way of expressing love, and she often bakes treats for her family, though she’s content to enjoy her creations in quiet solitude.
Beatrice’s love for baking is a reflection of her nurturing spirit, she is the type of person who prefers to show her affection through thoughtful actions, whether it’s baking a warm pie for a friend or taking the time to listen when someone needs a confidante. Though she’s surrounded by a large family, Beatrice often enjoys the solitude that comes with baking, finding peace in the act of creating something beautiful and delicious.
Early Life
Wonderful family
Beatrice grew up in the beautiful countryside just outside Cambridge, England, at her family’s grand estate. Surrounded by her large family, she lived a life of privilege, but it was a quiet, content life. Beatrice’s parents, Irene and Hank Fairchild, were both highly respected in the area, her father being a wealthy and well-connected nobleman, while her mother was known for her charitable work. Although Beatrice had many siblings, she was the one who preferred to spend her time in the quieter corners of the estate, reading or baking in the kitchen with her mother. It was here, in the warmth of the kitchen, that Beatrice’s love for baking was born. From a young age, she would help her mother make treats for their guests, learning the family’s secret recipes and finding joy in the simple act of creating something delicious.
Though Beatrice was one of the youngest in the family, she was often quieter than her older siblings and enjoyed spending time alone or in the company of a few close friends. While many of her siblings were involved in the business of running the estate or attending social gatherings, Beatrice was content with her books and her baking, always curious about the world beyond her family’s walls but never eager to leave the comfort of home. Her childhood was mostly peaceful, and though she faced the occasional family drama or hardship, such as the death of relatives or the burden of high expectations, Beatrice remained a gentle soul, seeking comfort in the things that made her happy.
As Beatrice entered her teenage years, she became more reflective. She started spending more time in the library, reading about philosophy, history, and the arts, subjects that fascinated her. Her mind, though quiet, was sharp, and she would often spend hours lost in thought. She dreamed of becoming a scholar or writer, but she didn’t see herself in the same social circles as many of the women she read about. She wasn’t interested in the typical life of a noblewoman, marriage and society events. Instead, she longed to explore new ideas, to study deeper, to become a master baker, and perhaps even see more of the world.
Though she didn’t express it outwardly, Beatrice began to feel the pressure of her family’s expectations. Being part of a large noble family meant that many doors were open to her, but it also meant that there were constant eyes watching her every move. She often wondered if her quiet nature and love for baking and reading would be enough to make her stand out in a family full of dynamic and successful people.
At 18, Beatrice finally left her family's estate for the University of Cambridge, where she enrolled to study philosophy, a subject that had long piqued her interest. The years she spent there were both enlightening and challenging, as Beatrice not only had to adapt to life away from home but also navigate the expectations of being a young woman in a prestigious institution. Despite being shy, she excelled in her studies, often finding comfort in her quiet contemplation and long hours spent in the library.
During her time studying at the University of Cambridge Beatrice got news of her fathers death, he’d been sick for a long time and the disease had finally taken him. After her father passed away Beatrice’s mother went crazy and disappeared, nobody having any clue where she'd gone too.
After graduating in 1902, Beatrice returned to her family’s estate, unsure of what the next chapter would hold for her. Her heart still longed for adventure, but she felt torn between her duty to her family and her desire for something more. But with her father having died and her mother missing Beatrice decided to travel to New Alexandria to hopefully find her mother and bring her home. The last sighting of Beatrice's mother was in New Alexandria after all and Beatrice knows her siblings will take care of their family estate and business.
Present Life
New wonders, 1904
Beatrice arrived in New Alexandria in the middle of March hoping to find her mother Irene Fairchild that she’d heard had caused some chaos in the state. So Beatrice began her search the second she arrived by boat in Saint Denis. Sadly she couldn't find any tracks of her mother anywhere and slowly began giving up hope she'd ever see her mother again. But since she'd traveled all the way to America she decided she might as well stay and see what the country of freedom could bring her.
On March 22nd Beatrice took the state bar exam with Mr. Glomgold and passed with flying colors. A little bit after taking the exam she wrote and sent in her judicial clerk application.
