Description
Dawson Alan Ray is a man notorious for his charm and cunning nature. A man with good looks who listens to everything one says and analyzes everything you say. He comes from a horrible past but seems to always overcome the bad to seek the good as he believes his mind is stronger than the feelings of loss.
Early Life
Dawson Alan Ray was born in Birmingham, England on August 21. His parents abandoned him as soon as he was born, but lucky enough he was taken in by the “Ray Family” as the newborn was placed in front of their doorstep. This family was one of a close gang-like relationship who ran an importing and exporting dock for Irish whiskey out of the Birmingham canal. Dawson grew up fighting and participating with a group of kids who called themselves “The Bloody Mates.” Just a bunch of young 11 year oldish kids who thought they were hot shit. One of the kids was Dawson's older brother John who always had the “bright” ideas, he told the group that they should go and rob the general store just down the road. Dawson looked toward the group and his brother attempting to tell them that this was not something he was into and refused to participate, he enjoyed the fighting for money, the bets, but never stealing. When the kids went in to rob the store Dawson stayed outside and kept an eye on things when a copper came around and saw what was going on. The kids ran out of the store and the general store owner drew a Mauser pistol and shot through the window, the bullet went through Dawson’s cheek and he began to run, all the adrenaline subsided the gunshot to his face. When the boys got away they immediately tended to Dawson’s face asking their aunts and mums to help him out. Dawson passed out, only to wake up with a sewn hole in his face.
Time grew on and Dawson grew to be 15 when his brother John went into the British Army and he would soon follow. Both men fought In 1882, ongoing civil disturbances in Egypt prompted Britain to intervene, extending a hand to France. The brothers fought side by side shooting a man after a man that were attempting to attack them, but as they both were in a trench together John was shot twice in the gut. Dawson knew these were vital shots and that if he didn’t get him to a medic immediately he would die. John grabbed onto Dawson as he tried to move him and said “Let me go, brother, you will die trying to get me there” Dawson still tried but he couldn’t escape the trench while John was also pulling him down. He told Dawson for the first time “I love you brother” as he faded away into the trench. Dawson got up and began firing at everything that moved on the other side, his shot was so full of rage and anger that he wiped out nearly the entire enemy before falling on top of his brother where he would let out his sadness.
Dawson ended up departing from the British Army as soon as he could and returned to the family. He has never been the same since the loss of his brother. After years went by, Dawson knew what he wanted to do and decided to do something about it. The dream to become a Deputy in America. He hated the police in England as they couldn’t carry guns and acted foolishly with their batons. He left Birmingham and headed for a new place that was making noise in America, a place called New Alexandria where his life would change forever.
Present Life
Dawson Alan Ray became a Deputy of the New Alexandria Sheriff’s Department when he first arrived in the state. He wasted no time chasing his dream. He devoted his absolute time and effort to the department, countless hours, sleepless nights, and all for two goals which was to make New Alexandria a safer place for its civilians and make the department a better place for its deputies. While patrolling along for quite some time he met Georgia Banks who was the soul leader of the Banks Family. Dawson scratched their backs he scratched theirs and eventually between all the laughs, love, and happiness they felt together Dawson was invited into the family. But he did not let the family distract him to much, no matter what he strived hard and proved himself and ultimately became a Detective of the New Alexandria Sheriff's Department. During this time he met a woman, a woman whom he never thought he could find and her name was Molly Marion Crowe. She shocked his world, laid new perspectives into his hands, and was the only one who could improve the dark settings that lay in his heart. She kept him stable and kept him driven. Dawson decided that he was going to marry this woman and surprised her with a boat ride out of blackwater where he would distract her with the sights of the water as he pulled a ring out of his pocket.
Dawson and Molly snuck off to California to get married on the white sand beaches and love like there was nothing else that mattered. They became the unstoppable Dawson and Molly Ray. But when they returned a new sweet soul snuck into their hearts and their minds ultimately winning them over into adopting her. She was the one and only Saskia Ray. The two took her in and moved into the house next to the burned-down town of Lymphany and began to start their peaceful life together.
Just as life was shaping up and Dawson being almost being the happiest man in the world he was called back to Birmingham, the family pleaded and begged him, saying that they’re in trouble. Gangs and Irish were attacking the docks and attempting to take them over. He received letters from a gang named the O’Sullivans saying that if he didn’t return they would come to New Alexandria and kill off his family one by one. He asked his wife Molly Ray and his daughter Saskia Ray if they would come with him, but it seemed that they wanted to stay. Dawson believed this to be the safe option as he did not know what he was about to walk into. He asked his brother Jodah Erickson to watch over his family and keep them safe while he is gone. Dawson set off for the big pond, leaving his family, the only true family that he has ever felt...but he had no choice.
While Dawson was away he received news that his Daughter Saskia Ray had passed away and all he could feel was broken. Broken that he could not be there for his daughter and his wife, that if he moved a muscle away from his location he would be killed by gangs and there was nothing he could do about it. As time went by he received a letter from New Alexandria, a letter reading that his wife Molly Ray was filing divorce against him and all he could do was accept his fate. He couldn’t fight this and couldn’t fight anything, he was stuck, he was at rock bottom.
Dawson became reacquainted with a woman by the name of Emma Harper who he once courted before he joined into the British Army. She left him because she wished not to have to worry about his survival, but she always remained loyal to him throughout all of these years. Upon seeing each other they opened up to how so many things in their lives have gone wrong and shared their scars with one another. As the gramophone played and the whisky began to do the talking, the two shared a passionate night with one another that would bring them closer than they ever imagined.
After six full months went by, Dawson was able to fight off the attacking gangs alongside his family and after many battles and negotiations, he finally was able to deter them away from his family and the docks they possessed. Dawson was ready to come home to New Alexandria, except there was no home. His wife gone, his daughter gone, his close friends dead or moved on. All that was left was Dawson Ray in a world he once knew and would now face once again...
As of now Dawson has been diagnosed with lung cancer and it is only a matter of time before his life fades away. He has found out that he is soon to be a father, that Ms. Emma Harper is having his children. Dawson has recently proposed and become married to the newly named Mrs. Emma Ray. Dawson is now fighting for his life every day in hopes that he can beat the illness boiling inside him, but the future is truly a mystery and his mind is not where it once was.
Dawson Ray passed away on the day of October 19, 1900 at 10:39PM by lung cancer.
