Summary
The Faceless had been apprehended after a vicious shootout just outside Valentine. A brutal gunfight had ensued after the ruthless leader of The Faceless, Soleil Delgato, had taken several citizens of New Alexandria hostage in order to send a message to the world. Not to the deputies, not to the state, the world. Soleil was merciless in the execution of his own will, as were the rest of his faceless as they sought to teach New Alexandria to hate, fear, and despite outlaws, and to remember his Faceless until they return to dust.
It was said there was a thick fog, and a long night ahead, as The Faceless were brought by wagon into Rhodes, tied together and strung out before a thick crowd of civilians and townsfolk, some were louder than other in their opinions and declarations, but it was a time to remember.
One by one they were lined up before the gallows, tied together. One by one, they were cut loose, tied to the post at the edge of the gallows, and executed by firing squad. With each mask that fell into the dirt, every drop of blood that stained and splattered the wood, and every body that fertilized the earth, the State garnered hope that this dark era would be over. The Faceless seemed to relish the chance to be executed in front of such a crowd, making it quite a spectacle as they hummed a dead man's tune, and summarily made cadence to each member that was executed, all up to the last. The reminder was issued in Soleil's final words, to remember who our heroes, and villains were.
The Faceless were executed in order, as follows:
Lynx, Doe, Fox, Vulture, Coyote, Soleil Delgato
The Executioners were as follows:
SrD Malcolm Ashbrook
Detective Lorenzo Roussan
Undersheriff Eden Meredith
Undersheriff Jack Carter
DSM Molly Ray
Marshal Jeremiah Jackson
History
The Faceless had been in State for quite some time, issuing a reign of terror over the course of several months within the state, robbing various establishments, taking dozens of civilians and deputies alike hostage, and eventually, beginning to harm them at essentially random with no recourse or objective but to derive and harvest the hatred of the State. Eventually it lead to their capture, their message, and inevitably, their execution.
Long Term Effect(s)
The reign of terror Soleil imposed was quite devastating on the hearts, minds, and bodies of New Alexandria, and made for powerful effect. The effects are truly yet to be determined, whether or not the citizens of New Alexandria would grow to distrust outlaws and their gangs, or whether they would welcome them with open arms the next time they are in distress.
