There are many NPC's in the state of New Alexandria and there are a lot of us as well. I'd like to bring up the naming of NPC's to everyone because I feel like the names given (if you are doing so) get mixed up. For example, most of the store clerks were given a name since the beginning of WWRP. Not all NPC's were given one at the time because not all of them were interacted with on a daily basis.

Store Clerks & Butchers (pre 2.0)
** somewhat official and known to all of the state at the time **

~1899 to 1900~

Valentine:

General Store - Eddie Van Waylan
The only clerk that hasn't been injured
Calls for deputies when woodland critters touch the till
Usually in a bad mood

Butcher - Russell Goodrich
Always quiet and reserved
Known for scamming

Strawberry:

General Store - Sven Jensen
Runs a moonshine business in the basement of the General Store
Shady with most products

Butcher - Stephen Williams
Kind and generous man
Says unusual things at night
Usually jolly and helpful

Blackwater:

General Store - Amos Strickland

One of the nicest store clerks in the state
Lost his leg during a shootout in 1899 - Hagen vs Horned Mask Men
Has an on going deal with Hagen (half for half)

Butcher - Jakob Williams
A very good friend of Herschel Arthroat
Now owner of 'Herschel's Meat Co'
Sweet and humble

Rhodes:

General Store - Charlie Cochrane

Very close friends with Elizabeth Corvus through his father Frank Cochrane
Protective of Rhodes and it's people
Provides food for the orphans

Butcher - Randolph Spears
Mysterious yet jolly
Also helps feed the orphans
Sweet but made angry, can be quite scary

St. Denis:

General Store - Samuel Horner (replaced later by Felix Augustin)
Stuck up and rude, just like the folk in St Denis
Doesn't care about getting robbed
Usually in the backroom smoking

Butcher - Bernard Holter
Always dealing with Samuel's lazy work antics
Sometimes ran the store
Kind and hard working

Van Horn:

General Store - The Bronson Brothers (River and Spade)
Quirky but stern
These two brothers would cause more trouble than thieves themselves
Always playing their banjo's while customers shop

Store Clerks & Butchers (2.0)
** let's try to keep it this way until they bring back the custom peds for each store **

~1901~

Valentine:

General Store - Trent Johnson
Easy to confuse
Usually sides with the thieves
Pockets extra money made for his family

Butcher - Russell Goodrich
Always quiet and reserved
Known for scamming

Strawberry:

General Store - Larry Smith
Brother of Benjamin
Protects the store for Sven
Inherited some of the moonshine business

Butcher - Stephen Williams
Kind and generous man
Says unusual things at night
Usually jolly and helpful

Blackwater:

General Store - Benjamin Smith

Brother of Larry
Has been told about the 'Hagen Deal'
Complete opposite of Larry

Butcher - Jakob Williams
A very good friend of Herschel Arthroat
Now owner of 'Herschel's Meat Co'
Sweet and humble

Rhodes:

General Store - Jeremiah Wilson

Was taught the Cochrane Tradition
Does his best to help the orphanage
Training under Randolph

Butcher - Randolph Spears
Mysterious yet jolly
Also helps feed the orphans
Sweet but made angry, can be quite scary

St. Denis:

General Store - Anthony Horner
Son of Samuel Horner

Butcher - Bernard Holter
Relieved to know Anthony is actually working
Still hard at work

Van Horn:

General Store - Kevin Brown
Somewhat a loner
Doesn't get along with the town
Has to suffer during robberies

If you have any special NPC's that you speak to on a daily basis through RP. Please feel free to add them here and I can update the current list. I'd love for these NPC's to continue living out their lives because THEY DO MATTER in this community believe it or not. Just because they aren't actual players, doesn't mean that they can be brought into your own stories and given life.

As far as other NPC's like random townfolk, that's up to you to name on the fly. But static and seen daily in business, wagon trades, banks, etc., please give them life!

(note to beautify later)

I have always called the hotel manager in valentine Jack (after his VA). But I know he has tons of names I've run into on the server. Although they aren't around anymore I loved the nicknames of Miss Valentine and Miss Blackwater who gave out delivery jobs, and still think of them as town busybodies, if they were in charge of sending deliveries, they probably had a lot of gossip.

And the tailor in St Denis will always be Pierre to me.

I've always called the Valentine hotel manager Eugene for some reason (I think someone else told me that was his name and I've just gone with it ever since). And whenever he gets duplicated and there's more than one of him, I've always just said it's one his identical brothers (Edward, Edmond, or Eustice).

I love this

We have been addressing the Colter NPC's by name since 2.0 and have also introduced them by that to friends who come visit.

Tipsy Cow has named the Emerald Ranch stable hand Albert!

And the Australian Shepherd that lays by the pole outside the horse pen has always been called Ozzie. He is a good herd dog, but is mostly blind. He can hear and smell the horses, and thinks he's keeping an eye on them, but he isn't aware that he's always nose to the pole.
(I also have names for all the other dogs, [specifically lol] on the property, but Ozzie is the one that's most secure)

The Sisika NPC Guard that takes Guards/LEO's (and criminals/visitors) to Sisika at the end of the dock both in Saint Denis AND Sisika is named Bob Mariner!
(this is actually canon)

So as far as Sisika, there is written in lore:

can confirm that in cannon lore the ferryman's actual name is Bob Mariner/Robert Mariner and he has a brother who is at the other docks/may swap with him occasionally. I think his 'brother' (the red head NPC version) has the first name of Eric, but most of us just say 'oh. huh. you're not bob you're his brother today aren't you?'

Also the guard that prisoners check their time with to leave's last name is Brickman. ( He doesn't have a first name yet as generally most guards are referred to by last name. )

Same with the man who lets you check your letters is just really called Letterman by all the guards/prisoners.

The sniper guard with the killer aim and an itchy trigger finger who isn't afraid to take a shot at any escaping prisoners' first name is canonically Simo.

There's a regular ranch hand at the Dewberry Creek stables whose name is Sam. He's often seen lazing about, leaning against some haybales, but somehow he gets all the work done when we're not looking.

Magpie calls the clerk at Wallace Station, uhh, "Wallace".

Is it his actual name?
Maybe, probably not.

Does it matter?
Nope!

The guy is MEAN!
Has nerves of steel, doesn't give in to anyone's demands no matter how tough they think they are!
Some say ice from the glaciers of Colter runs through his veins.

He's the kind of guy who'd tell a boy that "Sunday dress" means a dress you'd wear on Sunday, acting all friendly as he "helps you out" while he laughs behind your back, knowing you'll make a fool of yourself at your friends wedding.

Or something like that,
... Apparently.

This reminds me of the gentleman who whittles his piece of wood dangerously close to the clerk's legs at Flatneck Station.
We call him Flatneck Bob, or Flat Bob for short.

And I second Magpies statement. Hanna also calls the Wallace Station clerk Mr. Wallace. Is it his name? Probably not but it seems like he just accepts to be called by that name by now.

I forgot my favourite two NPC's!! (Hopefully they don't come for me about that).
1) Blackwater stable-master. I've named him Oliver. He works really hard to ensure all the ponies are tucked up, watered, fed, and are happy. Never lets us down. Works efficiently.
2) Macfarlane's stable-master. His name is Peter. Arguably the bravest, most courageous and fearless stable-master in the state. He often suffers injuries from cougars and/or wolves on a daily basis. Yet each and every day he goes back to doing what he does best...being the Pony Protector. What a guy.
