Little Timmy, as he is affectionately called by his friends, possesses a distinctive presence that sets him apart in a crowd. Standing at a relatively tall height, he carries a few extra pounds, giving him a somewhat robust appearance. His notable feature is his vibrant ginger hair, which adds a touch of uniqueness to his overall appearance. Additionally, Little Timmy often sports a neatly groomed beard, further accentuating his distinct charm.
Early Life
Timothy O'Boyle, born in the rugged neighborhood of Five Points, New York, in 1864, had a humble yet adventurous upbringing. His parents, Shay O'Boyle and Nessa Grannell, had immigrated from Munster, Ireland, aboard a self-propelled vessel following the devastating Famine in 1851. Settling in New York, they soon welcomed Timothy into the world.
Growing up in the midst of the rough and tumble Five Points neighborhood, Timothy learned to navigate the streets teeming with knife-wielding gangs and unruly mobs. It wasn't long before he honed his own skills with a blade, becoming adept in wielding a knife with precision.
In his late twenties, Timothy found employment as an apprentice at a local tannery, where various animal hides were processed and sold to butchers. He dedicated himself to his work, diligently carrying out his daily tasks. It was during this time that he had his first encounter with Grace Callaghan, and it was love at first sight. However, their romance faced a significant obstacle as Grace belonged to the upper class, residing in Manhattan. Their love was considered forbidden by her family.
Undeterred by societal barriers, Timothy and Grace clandestinely met after nightfall, stealing precious moments of romance. However, their hopes for a future together were shattered when Grace was forced into an arranged marriage with the son of a local newspaper owner.
The heartbreak and realization that his dreams with Grace were impossible led Timothy to embark on a journey to seek his own fortune and create his destiny far away from the confines of New York. Inspired by his parents' own journey to America, he packed his belongings, including his father's hunting rifle and his trusty knife, and set sail on a boat bound for New Alexandria, eager to carve out a new chapter in his life.
Present Life
Upon Timothy's arrival in the bustling town of Saint Denis, his first order of business was to quench his thirst at a local pub. Timothy had developed a habit of seeking out a drink in every town he visited, and he hoped to find solace in the familiar comfort of a lively tavern. However, to his surprise, the grand bar of Saint Denis stood empty as he stepped inside, leaving him momentarily disoriented.
Undeterred, Timothy continued his journey, eventually making his way northward towards the town of Valentine. Once again, he found himself greeted by an eerily vacant bar. Frustration tugged at his spirits, but his determination to enjoy a drink pushed him to take matters into his own hands.
Seizing the opportunity, Timothy vaulted over the counter, taking charge of the abandoned establishment. He poured himself a shot of whiskey left behind. Just as he was savoring the first sip, the creak of the bar door announced the arrival of a few men seeking their own refreshments.
Embarking on an impromptu role as bartender, Timothy obliged their request, pouring drinks and engaging in lighthearted banter. In that moment, a spark ignited within him, and a realization settled deep within his heart. He decided that becoming a bartender in New Alexandria was the path he would pursue.
Embracing the serendipitous turn of events, Timothy resolved to channel his love for libations and the convivial atmosphere of a bar into a new vocation. With renewed purpose, he set his sights on New Alexandria, determined to carve out a niche for himself behind the bar, mixing drinks and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for patrons seeking a respite from their own journeys.
As days turned into weeks, Timothy, along with his trusted companions Bob Volkov and Ricky Shay, began to establish a reputation for their Irish Pub. It was during this time Dahlia Quinn found solace in the warm embrace of the pub located in Valentine. She would spend countless hours within its walls, engrossed in lively conversations with Timothy that stretched long into the night.
However, Timothy grew weary of constantly cleaning up the dirt and mud in the bustling saloon of Valentine. Seeking a change of scenery, he decided to explore other locations within the state of New Alexandria.
During their search, Timothy, Bob, and Ricky stumbled upon an abandoned parlor house in the town of Rhodes. Recognizing the potential of the space, they eagerly transformed it into their new home for the Irish Pub. Months passed, and the establishment flourished, drawing in a steady stream of patrons who reveled in the warm atmosphere and Irish hospitality.
Yet, with success came a new set of challenges for Timothy. Larger groups, gangs, and unruly individuals began to view the Irish Pub as a target for intimidation. While most encounters were relatively harmless, with individuals attempting to assert their dominance, Timothy was determined to keep his establishment free from trouble.
In response to these incidents, Timothy made the difficult decision to temporarily close the doors of the pub, allowing tensions to subside and ensuring the safety of himself, his friends, and their loyal patrons. It was a brief respite, allowing Timothy to regroup, reassess the situation, and consider how to handle the ongoing confrontations.
Despite the temporary closure, Timothy remained steadfast in his commitment to providing a welcoming and safe environment for all who entered the Irish Pub's doors. He understood that sometimes, taking a step back was necessary to preserve the spirit of camaraderie and enjoyment that his establishment embodied.
With the help of his trusted friends, Timothy prepared himself to reopen the Irish Pub, this time equipped with a renewed sense of resilience and the determination to face any challenges that lay ahead. He knew that adversity was a natural part of running a successful business, but he was steadfast in his resolve to overcome it and continue to create a haven where people could come together, share a drink, and forge lasting memories.
Many moons passed and Little Timmy's had become a beloved establishment in New Alexandria. It attracted people from all corners of the state, drawn to the various events and gatherings organized by Timothy and his dedicated staff. Among the most popular and recurring occasions was "Timmy's Tequila Tuesdays," where anyone donning a sombrero upon entering the pub would be rewarded with a complimentary shot of tequila. This event became a staple, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere within the pub's walls.
During one of these lively evenings, fate intervened in the form of Elyhtra Blue, the newly elected governor. Enchanted by the charm and success of Timothy O'Boyle's local business, the governor-elect offered him the prestigious opportunity to provide catering services for the upcoming inauguration. It was a significant milestone for Little Timmy's, a testament to its growing prominence and influence.
However, tragedy struck in late September when Timothy embarked on a journey toward Blackwater, making a stop in Strawberry. It was a stormy night, with poor visibility and a sense of impending danger hanging in the air. Suddenly, a pack of wild wolves attacked the unsuspecting townsfolk, endangering their lives. In a display of bravery, Julia Quigley and Timothy courageously fought off the ferocious pack. Sadly, Timothy suffered multiple blows from a frightened horse, striking his chest and head. Julia swiftly attended to his injuries, treating his bruises and assessing for possible fractures. While she provided immediate care, she urged him to seek further medical attention at the doctor's office in Saint Denis.
Despite his injuries, Timothy embarked on a buggy ride toward the city, enduring excruciating pain along the way. As he drew closer to Saint Denis, the intensity of his suffering overwhelmed him, and he drifted into a state of unconsciousness. Unbeknownst to him, the storm and the clamor of nearby factories had caused the horses to panic. They bolted through the streets of Saint Denis, the out-of-control buggy careening and crashing against a lamppost. In the aftermath, Timothy's lifeless body remained unnoticed until the morning, when an anonymous factory worker stumbled upon the scene. With haste and concern, the worker transported Timothy to the nearby hospital in Saint Denis, where he was admitted in a coma.
From that fateful day onward, Timothy O'Boyle's life hung in the balance, his consciousness suspended in an unknown realm. Loved ones, friends, and patrons of Little Timmy's anxiously awaited any signs of improvement, hoping for his eventual awakening. The once vibrant entrepreneur now lay dormant, his fate uncertain, as the passage of time seemed to stand still in the face of a somber and uncertain future.
In mid-October, after three weeks trapped in the depths of a coma, Timothy's eyes fluttered open in the sterile confines of the ward in Saint Denis. Disoriented and devoid of possessions or proper attire, he mustered the strength to leave the hospital, albeit with faltering steps. As he struggled to find his bearings, a chance encounter led him to cross paths with Fred, who mistook him for his friend Knut. Recognizing Timothy's plight, Fred kindly guided him back to the doctor's office in Saint Denis.
Timothy awoke with no memory of his identity, feeling as if he had been transported back to the streets of New York. However, it was Doctor Henrietta Fjellholl who, upon examination, recognized the man before her as Timmy. Alongside Miss Julia Quigley, they provided him with care and decided to transport him to Blackwater for further recovery.
In Blackwater, Timothy gradually regained his strength through light work of various kinds. One of his tasks involved working alongside Mister Hal Deckard on the ferry boat, an opportunity that afforded him a chance to see the diverse landscapes of the state. Under the tutelage of the esteemed sailor, Timothy learned the intricacies of keeping the boat clean and steering it through the waters.
Deliberately avoiding the pub he had once built, Timothy immersed himself in a new venture alongside Morgan Friendly, a seasoned fisherman. Together, they honed their fishing skills, leading Timothy to establish a small side business called "Timmy's Fishing Frenzy." As a fisherman, he participated in the inaugural New Alexandria Marketplace held during the Old Continent Stars, and it proved to be a resounding success.
Yet, amidst the triumphs and newfound pursuits, Timothy couldn't help but feel a void. He yearned for the spirited conversations, the tales spun by adventurers who frequented his pub. The time had come for him to return to Rhodes, to revive the once-lively establishment that now lay abandoned. Although the place seemed desolate, with only a few farmers passing through, Timothy was determined to breathe life back into it. Rebuilding what he had left behind would require time, effort, and a steadfast commitment, but he was prepared to undertake the arduous journey and restore the vibrant heart of his beloved pub.
As the Fall Elections of 1901 loomed on the horizon, Ricky Shay convinced Timothy to throw his hat into the ring as a viable candidate. After some initial hesitation, Timothy embarked on a journey to the city hall in Saint Denis and officially declared his candidacy.
Timothy's campaign centered around a crucial objective: ensuring that European immigrants had proper representation in the upcoming legislature. He tirelessly campaigned, organizing rallies where he passionately addressed the crowd and genuinely listened to their concerns. He made it a point to empathize with the people, understanding the significance of their worries and pledging to champion their interests.
However, as the representatives engaged in debates, Timothy found himself grappling with the challenges of the political arena. The discussions often veered toward the topics of law enforcement and criminal activity, areas in which Timothy possessed limited knowledge. Despite his best efforts, he encountered moments of uncertainty and difficulty when confronted with questions pertaining to these matters.
Nonetheless, Timothy remained undeterred. He recognized that his journey into politics was a learning experience, and he resolved to educate himself on the intricacies of law enforcement and criminal justice. He sought guidance from knowledgeable individuals, conducted thorough research, and engaged in constructive conversations to broaden his understanding.
While Timothy's campaign encountered hurdles during the representatives' debates, he remained committed to his overarching goal: advocating for the European immigrant community and ensuring their voices were heard within the legislative sphere. With perseverance and an unwavering dedication to the cause, Timothy forged ahead, determined to make a meaningful impact and effect positive change in the lives of those he sought to represent.
Nevertheless, the campaign pressed forward, fueled by mounting tension and anticipation. Finally, on the second of December, the voting booths opened in Saint Denis, offering the opportunity for the people to make their voices heard. With each cast vote, the fate of the candidates hung in the balance, and Timothy could only wait, his future resting in the hands of the electorate.
Then, on the sixth of December, the moment of truth arrived. The results were in, and they brought exhilarating news for Timothy. With an impressive 32% of the votes, he emerged victorious, securing his position as a representative in the legislative body. Not far behind were Miss Fern Wilder and Miss Poppy Beckett, who claimed second and third place respectively. Together, they would form the 9th Legislative body of New Alexandria, ready to undertake the responsibilities entrusted to them by the electorate.
Timothy's heart swelled with gratitude and a profound sense of purpose. The trust and support bestowed upon him by the voters affirmed his commitment to the people he aimed to represent. With humility and determination, he prepared to embark on this new chapter of public service, ready to lend his voice and efforts to shaping the future of New Alexandria.
]
Timothy was honored by the faith he was given from the people of New Alexandria. He had the best intentions and was looking forward to make a change for the better of the common people.
On 11 December 1901 he would be sworn into office during a ceremony held at the Governors Mansion.
As the weeks passed, Timothy was struck with questions. He was overcome by doubts. He wanted to make a change in New Alexandria. He wanted to make a difference. But he quickly found out that things won't be that easy. As a commoner elected into an elite organisation he would have allot of opposition. Every article he put forward to review before being tabled was cut short and waved away. It was clear for Timothy he would never fit in.
As he lost all his faith and believes, he resigned from his position as State Representative in February. It was never officialy mentioned or announced by the Government that Timmy dropped out of the Legislative body.
Timothy moved back to Rhodes, deciding to move away from this State. As he packed his belongings, he couldn't shake the anger and bitterness that had overcome him. Closing down his beloved pub was the hardest decision he had ever made, but he knew it was time to move on.
He had always dreamed of traveling to Mexico and exploring its vibrant culture. And so, he decided that now was the perfect time to make that dream a reality. He booked a one-way ticket and gathered all the essentials and all his earnings he would need for his new adventure.
Unfortunatelly Timmy saw his fortunes dwindle as a result of his involvement in a destructive cycle of gambling and excessive alcohol consumption during his time in Mexico. His love for gambling turned into an addiction that consumed him. What started as occasional visits to the tables quickly escalated into frequent and reckless gambling sessions. He would spend long hours at the blackjack and poker tables, placing bets that grew increasingly larger as he chased the euphoric feeling of a big win. He would often drown his sorrows and celebrate his victories with copious amounts of liquor. The combination of alcohol and gambling clouded his judgment and impaired his decision-making abilities, leading to even riskier bets and mounting losses.
As his earnings steadily declined, Timothy found himself spiraled deeper into debt, accumulating loans from both acquaintances and lending institutions. The once-flourishing businessman found himself on a downward trajectory, struggling to keep up with the financial demands brought on by his vices.
Timothy's financial downfall in Mexico took an even more dramatic turn when he found himself entangled with a menacing Mexican loanshark. As his debts accumulated and his ability to repay dwindled, the loanshark's threats and violent intimidation tactics escalated, leaving Timothy with no choice but to flee in a desperate bid for survival...
Upon his return to Saint Denis, Timothy found himself in dire financial straits. The aftermath of his ill-fated escapades in Mexico left him penniless, with the bank of Rhodes seizing what little remained in his storage due to unpaid bills. The stablemaster echoed a similar sentiment, demanding compensation for the care provided to Timothy's horses during his absence.
To compound his troubles, the new Legislation had enacted a stringent law governing the production and sale of alcohol, requiring a valid business license. Unfortunately, Timothy's license had been revoked due to his inability to pay the necessary fees. In desperate need of both money and employment, he made a concerted effort to offer his assistance to anyone willing to hire him. No task was deemed too challenging as he sought to replenish his finances.
It was during this period of uncertainty that Nathan Burke extended a helping hand, offering Timothy a job within The Shadow Firm. Timothy found himself working as a security guard during a variety of organized events, including The Black Cat Cabaret and The Four Horsemen Auction. He also took up the role of a doorman during regular operating hours at The Four Horsemen Saloon. Thanks to the support of Lip Darmon, Timothy was able to regain a steady income, although he occasionally endured the humiliation of being clad in a French Clown Costume during the French Friday events.
In addition to his security duties, Timothy saw an opportunity to establish a lucrative business by providing hunting and gathering services. Clients such as Miss Agatha Von Baumstumpf, Rex Deckhart, and Lars Stefan sought his expertise in these endeavors.
Timothy diligently saved the earnings he acquired from these ventures, depositing them into the bank of Saint Denis, building a modest nest egg for his future.
With a welcome boost in financial support from Miss Naomi Black, Timothy was able to successfully reinstate his business license. Excitement filled the air as preparations were made for the grand reopening of Little Timmy's Irish Pub in June 1902.
Although uncertainty lingered in Timothy's mind, wondering if people would return to the once-desolate Rhodes, he couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope. The town had become as lifeless as his grandmother's old home, and he yearned to bring back the lively atmosphere that had once characterized the pub.
Timothy's adventurous spirit and the unwavering support of his closest friends played a crucial role in reviving Little Timmy's Irish Pub. Slowly but steadily, word began to spread, drawing people back to the establishment. The renewed energy and camaraderie began to permeate the pub once more.
As the business regained its footing, Timothy soon found himself facing a familiar challenge—staff shortages. Determined to maintain the pub's smooth operation, he actively sought out new employees. Olivia Brooks became the first addition to the team, taking on the role of a friendly and attentive barmaid. Her presence added an extra touch of warmth and hospitality to the pub.
Recognizing the need for organized financial management, Timothy approached Levan Benashvili, who had a remarkable talent for numbers and ledgers. Levan enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to become the pub's bookkeeper, bringing his expertise and ensuring the financial affairs of Little Timmy's were kept in impeccable order.
With Olivia's charm behind the bar and Levan's meticulous bookkeeping skills, Little Timmy's Irish Pub thrived once more. The pub regained its place as a gathering spot for locals and visitors alike, offering a respite from the mundane and a welcoming haven for shared stories, laughter, and a fine selection of drinks.
Timothy couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and gratitude for the team he had assembled. Together, they breathed new life into the pub, creating an inviting and vibrant space where friendships were forged, memories were made, and the spirit of Ireland flourished.
With the revival of Little Timmy's Irish Pub, the vibrant energy returned to Rhodes, slowly drawing people back to the town. Sensing an opportunity to further enrich his pub's offerings, Timothy conceived the idea of searching for an apprentice brewer. His intention was to share his brewing wisdom and passion with a new generation. This aspiration led him to discover Johan Espeland.
Joined by Johan's enthusiasm, Timmy embarked on a journey to the Strawberry brewery, where they delved into the intricate art of brewing. Guiding Johan through the steps and secrets of the craft, they embarked on an ambitious endeavor: creating the very first Irish Dry Stout in New Alexandria.
Their collaborative efforts resulted in the birth of "Tipsy Clover Irish Dry Stout." This unique brew embodied the essence of Ireland, carrying the rich flavors of roasted malt and the warmth of camaraderie that the pub stood for. As they continued to refine their brewing skills, the stout grew in popularity, captivating the palates of those who sought a taste of something distinct and exceptional.
While Timothy and Johan honed their brewing techniques, Levan's mathematical aptitude came into play. His skillful management of importing ingredients and tracking stout sales ensured the pub's operations ran smoothly, allowing the team to focus on perfecting their craft.
With the triumvirate of Timothy, Johan, and Levan working seamlessly together, Little Timmy's Irish Pub not only reclaimed its status as a community cornerstone but also established itself as a haven for connoisseurs of finely brewed beverages. The Tipsy Clover Irish Dry Stout became more than a drink; it became a symbol of the pub's dedication to craftsmanship, tradition, and the enduring spirit of camaraderie.
Timothy O'Boyle found himself in a challenging financial situation, with the numbers consistently heading south. His bookkeeper, Levan Benashvili, was tirelessly pursuing him, seeking answers about the dwindling funds. Despite the pub's revival, the monthly financial reports had yet to see positive figures.
Timmy's spending habits seemed to be a significant contributor to the financial decline. His penchant for acquiring premium, in-state brews, while admirable for promoting local Businesses, was straining the pub's budget. With over $1500 spent during the summer on exclusive drinks, the financial strain became more pronounced. The decision to exclusively feature these premium beverages meant that standard alcohols were no longer part of the menu.
However, even with these adjustments, the numbers remained low, exacerbated by the ongoing economic crisis. Timmy found himself caught in a dilemma—he couldn't bring himself to stop supporting other local Businesses, even at the risk of Little Timmy's own financial stability.
The question lingered: Would this precarious financial situation mark the end of Little Timmy's? The economic challenges, coupled with Timmy's unwavering commitment to premium, locally sourced products, created a precarious situation for the beloved Irish Pub.
The road ahead seemed uncertain, and tough decisions loomed on the horizon. Timothy O'Boyle faced the daunting task of finding a balance between supporting local Businesses and ensuring the longevity of his own establishment. The fate of Little Timmy's hung in the balance, awaiting a strategic shift or a stroke of financial fortune to secure its future.
In a surprising turn of events after the winter elections of 1902, Timothy O'Boyle found himself appointed as the Secretary of Commerce by the newly elected Governor Anne Wright. Despite his initial resolution to stay away from Government affairs, the call of public service proved too strong for the seasoned businessman to resist.
As a shrewd entrepreneur, Timothy believed that his firsthand business experience could bring valuable insight to the Office of Commerce. He saw an opportunity to contribute his expertise and foster an environment where businesses could thrive in the State of New Alexandria.
One of his inaugural projects as Secretary of Commerce was the creation of a comprehensive Business Directory for the state. More than a mere compilation of names and addresses, this directory aimed to be a celebration of the entrepreneurial spirit that pulsed through the veins of New Alexandria. Timothy envisioned it as a testament to the dedication of those who had turned dreams into reality, leaving an indelible mark on the state's economic and cultural landscape.
Eager to kickstart economic growth, Timothy set out to publish these booklets, envisioning them as tools to connect businesses, encourage collaboration, and showcase the diverse array of enterprises that contributed to the state's prosperity. The Business Directory was poised not only to be a practical resource but also a symbol of the interconnected web of businesses that formed the backbone of New Alexandria.
Timothy O'Boyle's foray into Government affairs marked a new chapter in his illustrious journey. With a passion for commerce and a commitment to the prosperity of the state, he embraced his role with zeal, ready to make a meaningful impact on the economic and cultural heritage of New Alexandria.
Affiliations
Timothy, the proprietor and beloved figure of the Irish Pub in Rhodes, had a new role to add to his repertoire. On the memorable day of December 10, 1901, he took the oath of office as the State Representative for the Central District in the 9th Legislation of New Alexandria. This prestigious position bestowed upon him the responsibility of representing the interests and concerns of his constituents.
In addition to his role as a State Representative, Timothy also assumed the crucial role of State Treasurer, entrusted with managing the financial affairs of the state. However, his time in these positions would be relatively short-lived, as he made the decision to resign from both posts in February 1902.
Following his return from Mexico, Timothy found himself in need of shelter and employment. It was Nathan Burke, a fellow Irishman and the proprietor of The Shadow Firm, who extended a helping hand. Timothy gratefully accepted the offered shelter and employment, finding solace in the camaraderie and shared heritage that united them.
In January 1903 Timothy O'Boyle's unexpected appointment as Secretary of Commerce by Governor Anne Wright marked a pivotal moment in his entrepreneurial journey. Despite his initial reluctance to engage in government affairs ever again, Timothy accepted the role, driven by a desire to leverage his business acumen for the betterment of New Alexandria.
